Avico Dual Monitor KVM Setup Diagram
2 PC setup | Wiring diagram for Dual Monitor KVM | How to setup Dual Monitor KVM
Setting up your Avico Dual Monitor KVM is super easy. You will need 2 video connections and a USB connection from each computer to the KVM (3 connections per computer).
2 Video & USB connections
The 2 HDMI video connections are required since the KVM does not use any software or drivers (like a docking station) to send video to the monitors. Most computers have at least 1 HDMI connection. For the second video connection you may need an adapter, we recommend to choose from this list of approved adapters.
The USB connection is necessary for the all the peripherals (Keyboard, Mouse, etc.) connected to the KVM. If the USB connection is not active the select button 1 & 2 will flash, once connected the light will be a solid green light.
Keyboard & Mouse
The keyboard and mouse should be connected to the dedicated keyboard/mouse ports on the back of the KVM. These two ports are only for keyboard/mouse, other USB devices will not function when connected. These ports hold the hotkey switching feature, make sure to connect your keyboard to the dedicated port on the back of the KVM for the hotkey switching function.
On the front side of the KVM you have 2 USB 3.0 Type A ports for USB devices and the Microphone/ Auxiliary port for headsets or audio devices. Both the Audi hub and the USB hub on the front of the KVM have the binding feature. The binding feature allows the user to lock the Audio or USB hub to a selected computer. This means the Audio or USB hub remain connected to the selected computer at all times, the connection is never switched or broken while switching between computers. This is great for transferring large files through the USB hub or listening to music on the Audio hub.
